Joan McMurdo, 79, of Sedalia, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Fairview Nursing Home in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home in Sedalia. Pastor Rodney Brown will officiate. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 9, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shannon McMurdo, Scott McDonald, Wesley McMurdo, Allen Cornwall, Dan Bergman and Steve Morris. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia. Memorials are suggested to Parkview Christian Church, the Show-Me Christian Youth Home or Bothwell Hospice.
Born Oct. 7, 1924, in Kirksville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Dore Webber. On Jan. 29, 1943, in Warsaw, she married John A. "Jack" McMurdo, who survives of the home. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1942. She had worked for Sage's Ready to Wear in Sedalia and later at Town & Country Shoes, before retiring. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church.
Additional survivors include one son, Mike McMurdo of Kimberling City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Robert Webber.
