Ira Francis Hackett, 63, of Marshall, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with military rites at graveside. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born May 8, 1940, in St. Catherine, he was the son of the late Ira Dewitt Hackett and Mildred Forbes Hackett, who survives of Brookfield. On Jan. 25, 1990, in Warsaw, he married Janice K. Browder Floyd, who survives of the home. He returned to Marshall in the 1990s, moving from Sedalia. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Navy veteran. He had worked at TWA in Kansas City for many years and retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Saline County Highway Department.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Lisa Fleener of Kansas City; one son, Mitchell Hackett of Kansas City; two stepdaughters, Tammy Johnston of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dawn Gray of Ogden, Utah; one stepson, Jack Floyd Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyo.; four adopted children, Dustin, Timmy, Christina and Destiny Hackett, all of the home; one foster son, Malik Ferguson of the home; two sisters, Janet McLaughlin of Kansas City and Micki Knowles of Brookfield; one brother, Don Hackett of Laurie; and several nieces and nephews.
