Leroy E. Mobley, 85, of Marshall, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev Ed Bell will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "Amazing Grace" and "In the Sweet By and By." Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery in Waverly with military rites at graveside. Memorials are suggested to the Marshall Senior Center.
Born July 12, 1918, in Sugar Creek, he was the son of the late Jesse Mobley and Lulu Harlan Mobley. On Feb. 12, 2001, he married Linda McMellen, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2646 in Marshall and the Moose Lodge in Sedalia.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Kathy Cone of Bates City; one son, Bill Mobley of Slater; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
