Mary Helen Haggard Ball, 84, of Slater, formerly of Kansas City, died Friday, April 9, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan. Burial will also be in the cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Feb. 1, 1920, in Bolivar, she was the daughter of the late George Pickell and Grace Toland Pickell. On Sept. 14, 1977, in Kansas City, she married James F. Ball, who preceded her in death May 15, 1998. She had lived in Kansas City most of her life. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1977. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers/Charles S. Gleed Chapter.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol A. Clopton of Kansas City; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one half sister, Agnes Dowdy.
