Jeff A. Irons, 15, of Marshall, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Jim Long will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will provide the music. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Marcus Irons, Mark Irons, Everett Jones, Rodney Moore, David Newsome and Fred Versteate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
Born Oct. 9, 1988, in Rolla, he was the son of Mark D. Irons, who survives of Warsaw, and Crystal L. Griffith Newsome, who survives of Marshall, and stepson of David Newsome, who survives of Marshall. He was a Marshall resident the past nine years and played football while attending Bueker Middle School and Marshall High School. He was a freshman at Marshall High School this year.
Additional survivors include maternal grandparents Karen Rife of Marshall and John and Judy Frazee of Marshall; paternal grandmother, Alice Irons of Warsaw; three brothers, Marcus Irons and Jonathan Newsome, both of the home, and David Brewer of Topeka, Kan.; three sisters, Amber and Danielle Newsome, both of the home, and Nikki Presswood of Topeka, Kan.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
