Helen Roberta "Bert" Bennett Riley, 63, of Slater, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia.
Cremation. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born May 22, 1940, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Robert Miller Bennett and Helen Lucille Schrader Bennett, who survives of Slater. In 1956, she married Willard Wayne Riley, who preceded her in death in 1987. She had lived in Saline County her entire life, living in Slater the last 20 years. She was a homemaker.
Additional survivors include three sons, Robert Wayne Riley of Afton, Okla., Randall Lee Riley of the state of Washington and Christopher Keith Riley of Eldon; two daughters, Madeline Scharnhorst of rural Marshall and Kay George of Slater; two brothers, Roger Bennett of Carrollton and Earl Bennett of Marshall; four sisters, Janet Bennett of Carrollton, Annetta Byrd of Slater, Nylena Bennett of Anderson and Beverly Bennett of Anderson; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
