O.R. "Clay" Johnson, 89, of Gilliam, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Concord Christian Church in Saline County. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "The Old Rugged Cross," "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Garden." Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Concord Cemetery.
Born Dec. 13, 1914, in Gilliam, he was the son of the late Rudolph Johnson and Lula Belle Burnett Johnson. He married Louise Hancock, who preceded him in death Jan. 4, 1988. He lived most of his life in Luther, Okla., and Gilliam. He was a member of Concord Christian Church. He was retired from M-K-T Railroad and was a farmer.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Metcalfe of Gilliam and Corean Haynes of Gilliam; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Johnson and Tony Johnson, and one sister, Rosie Novella Butler.
