Robert Ewing "Bob" Stone, 84, of St. Charles, formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, April 1, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Gail Holstein will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 8770 Manchester Road, St. Louis MO 63144-2724.
Born April 30, 1919, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Grover Stone and Ethel McLean Stone. On Oct. 25, 1942, in Reno, Nev., he married Mabel L. Kent, who preceded him in death April 15, 1998. He had lived in St. Charles since 1956, moving from Columbus, Ohio. He retired as district service manager of General Motors in 1979. During his retirement, he worked part-time for McKelvey-Kessler Oldsmobile, and most recently, at St. Louis Auto Auction. He was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Chabraja of Northbrook, Ill.; two sons, Roger Stone of Brownsburg, Ind., and Kent Stone of St. Peters; and five grandchildren.
