Kenneth Howard, 91, of Gilliam, died Friday, March 26, 2004, in Marshall.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Father Kevin Gormley officiated. Pallbearers were Ryan Teel, Kaleb Howard, Herbert Piper, Rodney Allen, Ladon Nichols and Bing Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Cody Howard, Cassandra Tiffany, Donald Allen and J.B. Allen. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
Born Sept. 24, 1912, in Gilliam, he was the son of the late Ora Piper. On Aug. 19, 1942, in Sedalia, he married Mary Agnes Wright, who survives. He was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4367 in Slater, a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of St. John's Free Will Baptist Church in Gilliam.
Additional survivors include one son, Mick Howard and wife Tina of Marshall; four grandchildren, Kaleb Howard, Cody Howard, Cassandra Tiffany and Ryan Teel; and several nieces and nephews.
