Charles G. Page Jr., 82, of Gravois Mills, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. Rev. Gerald Hamlett will officiate. No visitation. Memorials are suggested to Gravois Arms Lions Club.
Born Nov. 2, 1921, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Charles G. Sr. and Flora Withers Page. He was a graduate of Marshall High School. He married Martha Tenney Walkup, who preceded him in death. In 1952, in Boonville, he married Audrey Pfeiffer, who preceded him in death. He was owner of Page Boat Yard in Gravois Mills from 1952 until 1982. He also owned Page Enterprises, producers of trade and exhibition shows. He was active in Lions Club International, serving as international director from 1969 to 1971. He was a past president of the Missouri Marine Dealers Association, past president of the Missouri Travel Association, past president of Gravois Arm Lions Club, past president of the Highway 5 Vacationland Association, secretary of The Lake of the Ozarks Association for 20 years and was a charter member of The Lake of the Ozarks Yachting Association. He served on the Lakeland State Bank board of directors in Sunrise Beach. He was a Baptist and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Page of Gravois Mills; one stepson, Richard Walkup of Valley Center, Kan.; three stepdaughters, Mary Sweigert of Sedalia, Betty Hopkins of Independence and Faye Parr of Blue Springs; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
