Esther M. Jacobs, 81, of Marshall, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Dale O. Bean will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will accompany Leonda Raines as she sings "Heaven," "Jesus Sign My Pardon" and "Special Delivery." Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be J.D. Alspaw, Bob Arth, Don Bradshaw, Kenny Gerlt, Bob Larson, Jesse Gerlt, John Matt and Gene Weathers. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to First Assembly of God Church in Marshall or the Aged Ministry Assistance Fund.
Born Oct. 20, 1922, in Blue Lick, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. Alspaw and Laura E. Evans Alspaw. She married James C. Davis, who preceded her in death. She then married William Jacobs, who preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1978. She was a housewife and had lived in the Independence, Lexington and Wellington areas before returning to Marshall. She was also a member of First Assembly of God Church in Marshall.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Dorthy Gerlt of Nelson and Nora Louise Marr of Calipatria, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
