Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 27, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sedalia. Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst will officiate. Private family interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran School or church or BRHC Hospice. Funeral arrangements under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
Born Nov. 17, 1933, in Polk County, Neb., he was the son of the late Raymond Henry Oscar and Frieda Barbra Nau Lenz. On Jan. 25, 1958, in Bunceton, he married Deloris Fancler, who survives of the home. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the anti-aircraft artillery battery in Alaska from 1954 to 1956. He graduated from Boonville High School in 1950 and worked on the family dairy farm until 1960. He was a plant foreman for Hall & Riley Quarries in Marshall for 41 years, and most recently worked at APAC, Ashland, Inc. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sedalia, where he served in numerous positions on the board, taught Sunday school and was in the choir.
Additional survivors include two sons, Mark Lenz and Todd E. Lenz, both of Jefferson City; two daughters, Phyllis Padgett of Sedalia and Darla A. Lenz of Columbia; one sister, Raeola Walker of New Franklin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
