Willie V. Gibson, 86, of Marshall, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Truman of Lakewood in Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Rich Shugert and Rev. Albert Smith will officiate. Rev. James Smith will sing "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Victory in Jesus." Ramona Bullington will be the accompanist. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Clarence Gibson, Roger Krone, Ross Carlton, Earl Gibson, John DeWitt and Junior Gibson. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Born April 23, 1917, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard C. Rogers and Bessie Iona Moore Rogers. On Oct. 27, 1934, she married George W. "Bill" Gibson, who preceded her in death April 14, 1996. She had lived in Saline County her entire life. She was a member of Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and was a member of the Ladies Day Circle. She was Sunday school superintendent for many years. She retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods after more than 35 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Lusby of Marshall and Daralene Carter and husband Karl of Lone Jack; three brothers, Durwood Rogers of Spring Hill, Fla., R.W. Rogers of Marshall and Bobby Joe Rogers of Marshall; one sister, Garadel Krone of North Kansas City; three grandsons, Glen Lusby of Chicago, Ill., Kevin Carter and wife Ottavia of Oak Grove and Keith Carter and wife Dana of Lone Jack; two great-grandsons, Kyle and Klay Carter of Lone Jack; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Tony Ott and wife Tosha of Grain Valley and Brandy Goodridge and husband Ryan of Oak Grove; one stepgreat-great-grandson, Dayton Ott of Oak Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers and one son-in-law, Kenneth Lusby.
