Evelyn Cristeen Lock, 75, of Waverly, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton. Rev. Ken Criqui will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. A rosary service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Carrollton. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633.

Born June 4, 1928, in LaPlata, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Mary McConnell Tyhurst. On March 29, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton, she married Joseph William Lock, who survives of the home. She attended LaPlata grade and high school and Central Business College in Kansas City. She was a secretary in Carrollton and Kansas City until 1951. She was a homemaker living in Carrollton until 1968, and had lived in Waverly from 1968 until her death. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Carol Ann Lock Ross and husband Lanny of New Market, Iowa, Catherine Lynn Lock of Waverly and Phyllis Jean Lock Bargfrede and husband Brent of Dunlap, Ill.; one son, Steven Neil Lock of Higginsville; one sister, Lucille Tyhurst McCoy of Boonville; three grandchildren, Michelle Ross Hobbick and husband Eric of New Market, Iowa, and Becky Bargfrede and Ben Bargfrede, both of Dunlap, Ill.; and one great-granddaughter, Danielle Hobbick of New Market, Iowa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carroll Tyhurst, Norman Tyhurst, L.D. Tyhurst and James Tyhurst; and one sister, Rowena Tyhurst Jewell.
