Myra Garst Templeton, 60, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Chris Harper will officiate. Pallbearers will be Larry Hare, Greg Swift, Todd Garst, Randy Templeton, Kent Templeton and Rodney Gentry. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw. Memorials are suggested to Children's Therapy Center or the American Cancer Society.
Born May 16, 1943, in Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Amos C. "Bud" Garst and Lois Goodwin Garst, who survives of Marshall. On Dec. 27, 1963, she married Jessie L. Templeton, who preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1999. She returned to Sedalia in December 2002, moving from Cooper County, where she had lived since 1979. At a young age, she worked at Garst Drive-In in Sedalia. She later worked at Fishback and More, Channel 10 in Wichita, Kan., Hobsen's Carpet, Four Square Market, Nelson Elevator and Swift Carriers, where she was employed during the past 14 years. She attended Mark Twain Elementary School and graduated from Smithton High School in 1961.
Additional survivors include one son, Matthew Templeton of Sedalia; one daughter, Jamie Peace of Blue Springs; one brother, Don Garst of Marshall; one sister, Ann Hall of Minneapolis, Minn.; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Brown.
