Della Opal O'Dell, 94, of Marshall, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Mar-Saline Manor Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Joe Wayne Willis, Joseph P. Willis, LeRoy Harden, Lynn Harden, Danny Fisher, John Gowans and Matt Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Sims, Adam Friend and Andrew Friend. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with graveside services at North New Garden Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in Marshall or North New Garden Cemetery.
Born Jan. 3, 1910, in Ray County, she was the daughter of the late Ira Guy Tracy and Sarah Melinda Martin Tracy. On April 5, 1926, she married Joseph P. O'Dell, who preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1997. She had lived in Marshall since 1963, moving from Carrollton. She was a member of First Christian Church in Marshall, Elm Grove Social Group, Quilters Guild and Rebekah Lodge. She was a homemaker and sewed for her children and grandchildren. She and her husband farmed in Carroll County for many years.
Survivors include one son, Carl O'Dell and wife Margaret of Marshall; three daughters, Vivian Ohms and husband Roger of Lee's Summit, Dorothy Crass and husband Fred of Brookfield and Joan Hanes and husband Al of Raytown; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and eight sisters.
