Clarence E. "Bill" Schouten, 77, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Moore Funeral Home in LaMonte. Rev. Steve Raglin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Paul Schouten, Ralph Cochran, James Hecke, Robert Schouten, Duane Cordell and Kevin Leiby. Burial will be in Houstonia Cemetery.
Born March 20, 1926, in Blue Lick, he was the son of the late Clarence and Antonia Swopes Schouten. On Aug. 4, 1946, in Houstonia, he married Daphne Mae Bell, who preceded him in death in February 2001. He was a member of the Baptist church and had served in the U.S. Army. He was also a mechanic in Sweet Springs.
Survivors include two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, John Schouten; and five brothers, James, Lloyd, Floyd, Charles and Bob Schouten.
