Rose Marie Gilpin, 54, of Shawnee, Kan., died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kan.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe. A parish rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, with a visitation to follow. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery in Waverly. Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Born Nov. 26, 1949, in Chillicothe, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Brady O'Hara. On April 3, 1982, in Waverly, she married Danny Gilpin, who survives of the home. She was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Chillicothe. She had lived in the Shawnee Mission area after moving from Edwardsville, Kan. She was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Danielle Marie Gilpin of Shawnee, Kan.; two stepsons, Dean Gilpin and Kevin Gilpin, both of Raymore; one brother, Charles "Pat" O'Hara of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Sally Boland of Waverly; and three grandchildren.
