Charles W. "Chuck" Lynch, 49, of Blue Springs, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at his home.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at St. John La Lande Catholic Church in Blue Springs. Music will be provided by organist Carol Wolfe and soloists Cliff Gauldin and Maria Dickson. Pallbearers will be Roger Brayman, Mike Coslet, Shawn Early, Howard Edmonds, Troy Eskew and Mike Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Boedeker, David Malecki, Bob Barr, Paul Barr, Mark Barr, Bret McSparin and Ted Wolfe. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at St. John La Lande Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities Hospice, St. John La Lande Building Fund or the charity of choice. Webb Funeral Home of Blue Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Born Dec. 27, 1954, in Marshall, he was the son of the late William E. Lynch and Evelyn Gauldin Lynch, who survives. He lived in Marshall until 1974, moving to Blue Springs. On June 30, 1978, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, he married Cathy J. Barr, who survives of the home. He was a member of St. John La Lande Catholic Church. He was a locomotive engineer for Kansas City Southern Railway and during his 29-year career he was, for many years, a union representative. He was a loving father and a devoted husband. He was a sports enthusiast, an avid outdoorsman and a talented chef and gardener.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Megan Lynch of Kansas City; two sons, Ryan Lynch and Austin Lynch, both of Blue Springs; two sisters, Shirley Early and Sarah Eskew, both of Blue Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
