Helen D. Weeks, 90, of Marshall, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at First United Methodist Church in Marshall. Rev. Dave Huck will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Cemetery in Linn. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born May 1, 1913, in Linn, she was the daughter of the late Herman D. Huffine and Virginia Collins Huffine. On Dec. 26, 1935, she married Artie Edwin Weeks, who preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1958. She had lived in Marshall since 1953, moving from Gerald. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of United Methodist Women, Wesleyan Circle and Keystone Sunday school class. She was a homemaker and also worked in nutritional services at Marshall High School, Saline County Rest Home and the Georgia Brown Blosser home.
Survivors include one son, Robert F. Weeks of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Kathy Thompson of Marshall; one sister, Evelyn Burns of Richmond; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia LaRue, one brother and two sisters.
