Helen R. Chamberlin, 87, of Marshall, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Mar-Saline Manor Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Marshall. Rev. Dave Huck will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Mark Tobin, Austin Chamberlin, Adam Alexander and Craig Alexander. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
Born Oct. 12, 1916, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late August Baldus and Ella Stolberg Baldus Weisenburger. On May 13, 1942, she married A.H. Chamberlin, who preceded her in death April 1, 1981. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Women's Sewing Circle and Circle 5. She was a retired secretary from the Marshall Democrat-News and was active in the Meals on Wheels program.
Survivors include one son, A. Howard Chamberlin and wife Carol of Lake Lotawana; two daughters, Nina L. Pointer and husband W.L. of Lee's Summit and Donna A. Alexander and husband Pat of rural Marshall; two sisters, Luella Hemme of Sweet Springs and Kay Sweeney of Lee's Summit; one brother-in-law, Walt Harlow of San Francisco, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Val Weisenburger, and one sister, Elsa Baldus Harlow.
