F. Arnold Herrmann, 81, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Rich Shugert will officiate. Music will be provided by pianist Julie Lewis. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall with military rites at graveside. Memorials are suggested to the Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
Born Dec. 14, 1922, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Frank Henry Herrmann and Bernice Davis Herrmann. On July 1, 1946, he married Frances Norden, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was a member of Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was an insurance agent and retired as chairman of the board for Concordia Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Previously, he and his wife owned and operated Herrmann Service Station and Grocery in rural Marshall and he was owner and operator of a school bus for Malta Bend R-5 school. He was a U.S. Army/Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II. He was a 50-year charter member of American Legion Post 558 in Malta Bend.
Additional survivors include one son, Frank A. Herrmann Jr. and wife Kathleen of Okinawa, Japan; three daughters, Brenda Wormsley and husband Bill of Holts Summit, Nancy Gilbert and husband Norman of Dayton, Ohio, and Jeanie Ebers and husband Randy of Rolla; one sister, Lucille Case and husband Warner of Kansas City; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
