Helen Elizabeth Baker, 83, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Mar-Saline Manor Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow and Rev. Cliff Cato will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Patrick Baker, Darrin Breshears, Robert Lee Breshears, Daniel Crumbaugh, David Stanton, Johnny LaGore and Alvin Counts. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Breshears, Larry Morrow, Carl Morrow and Diane Baker. Burial will be held in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
Born Sept. 19, 1920, in the state of Texas, she was the daughter of the late Melvin M. Moore and Carrie Duncan Moore. On Oct. 12, 1940, in Batesville, Ark., she married Robert Henderson Baker, who preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1984. She had lived in Marshall since 1960, moving from Batesville, Ark. She was a member of the Assemblies of God church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucille Breshears and husband Lee of Arrow Rock and Pat Morrow and husband Larry of rural Marshall; one son, Glenn Baker and wife Diane of Marshall; one sister, Lucille Brown of Batesville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Baker, four sisters, and two brothers.
