A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Raphael Building Fund or Hospice of Wake County. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Carolinas.
Born July 11, 1927, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Ray and Anna Huesgen. He was a U.S. Navy carrier pilot during the 1940s. He married Josephine Garies, who survives of the home. Following his service, he worked for Wilson Sporting Goods for 31 years. After retirement, he started his own company, Capital City Decorators.
Additional survivors include two sons, Timothy Huesgen and wife Stephanie of Severn, Md., and Christopher Huesgen and wife Donna of Spotsylvania, Va.; two daughters, Nancy Singleton and husband Robert of Fuquay, N.C., and Kathleen Blake and husband Paul of Romeo, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Kropp, and one brother, Eugene Huesgen.
