Willard D. Shaw, 70, of Slater, formerly of Henrietta, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with military rites by Lexington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4052. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
Born Sept. 26, 1993, in Osceola, he was the son of the late Eury and Lola Wilkerson Shaw. On June 17, 1960, he married Nora Ann Hostetter, who preceded him in death March 21, 2003. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He had worked at General Motors as an assembler. He retired in 1990 after more than 30 years. He was a past commander of V.F.W. Post 4052 in Lexington.
Survivors include three sons, James Shaw of Cameron, Wayne Hill of Orrick and Gary Shaw of Slater; two brothers, Elvan Shaw and Harold Shaw, both of the state of Missouri; and two sisters, Erma Woody of Belton and Jeane Bixlee of the state of California.
