Bettie Corine Allen, 84, of Kansas City, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at her home after a protracted illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City. Rev. Kenneth Ray will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Slater.
Born July 8, 1919, in Namrash in Chariton County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Virgie Agee. She married LaRue Smith, who preceded her in death. She later married Floyd O. Douglas, who preceded her in death. She then married Ellis A. Allen, who survives of Kansas City. She resided in Moberly before moving to Kansas City in 1942.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Patricia Wynn of Kansas City; two sons, Larry Smith of Kansas City and Clyde Agee of Columbus, Ohio; one stepson, Lt. Col. Jeffery Allen of Fort Belvoir, Va.; one brother, Claude "Bill" Agee of Kansas City; two daughters-in-law, Theresa Smith of Kansas City and Sheri Agee of Columbus, Ohio; one son-in-law, Murrey Wynn of Kansas City; two stepdaughters-in-law, Elmira Allen of Fort Belvoir, Va., and Danita Allen of Fort Belvoir, Va.; and several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, two stepsons, two stepdaughters and one stepgrandson.
