Martha E. Brayton, 75, of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan., 25, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Wayne Doolin and Rev. N. Paul Callahan will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Pass Community Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Born Oct. 1, 1928, in Grand Pass, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Young and Ora Kilpatrick Young. She returned to Marshall in 2001, moving from Cincinnati, Ohio, previously living in Springfield. She was a Presbyterian and a retired secretary. She had graduated from Grand Pass High School and attended business college.
Survivors include one son, Marc Brayton of Marshall; one daughter, Marsha Balsly of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Lee Jones of Sarasota, Fla., and Gladys Frazier of Waverly; one grandson; nine stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, LaVerne Thompson.
