Christina Marie Gudde Clouse, 89, of Warrensburg, formerly of Marshall and Sedalia, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg. Father Dennis Schaab officiated. Pallbearers were Randy Gudde, Cary Murphy, Don Murphy, C.L. Gudde, Curt Brockhause and Charles Stedem. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg. Memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund and may be left at the chapel or church.
Born Nov. 15, 1914, north of Holden, she was the daughter of the late George H. Brockhaus and Mary H. Lohe Brockhaus. On April 29, 1936, at St. John's Catholic Church, she married Clarence Otto Gudde, who preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1946. In November 1973, in Blue Springs, she married Emmett J. Clouse, who preceded her in death in March 1999. She had been a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years in Marshall and Sedalia. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia and its Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers Club and Communication Workers of America, both in Sedalia.
Survivors include one son, Leroy Gudde of Warrensburg; one sister, Georgia Oser of Warrensburg; one brother, Herb Brockhause of Kingsville; one grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Cecilia Stedem, Clara Ragen and Martha Hanson; and five brothers, Curtis, Theodore, Raymond, Hillary and Leonard Brockhaus.
