Wanda Rose Buckles, 62, of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Pastor Ken Randolph will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace." Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association or the family's choice.
Born Dec. 9, 1941, in Nelson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph McCoy and Rosa Jane Barton McCoy. On July 19, 1966, she married Glenn Buckles, who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a member of First Baptist Church in DeWitt. She was a licensed practical nurse at the Marshall Habilitation Center for 13 years and at the Saline County Rest Home for seven years. She was a 1960 graduate of Nelson High School and received her LPN license from the Saline County Career Center.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Clark and Rose Mary Buckles, both of Marshall; one brother, Bob McCoy of Marshall; one sister, Joyce Richardson of Tucson, Ariz.; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
