Sally "Sue" Eldridge Stubbs, 76, of Warrensburg, formerly of Saline County, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Committal services with burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Warrensburg. Rev. Alex Wales will officiate. Friends may call Thursday, Jan. 15, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Memorials are suggested to the Friends of Arrow Rock or Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater and may be left at the funeral home, 617 N. Maguire, Warrensburg, MO 64093.
Born March 12, 1927, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of the late Ross Eldridge and Sue Coffin Eldridge. On Sept. 4, 1948, in Kansas City, she married Roy M. Stubbs, who preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1993. She received a bachelor's degree from Randolph/Macon Women's College in the state of Virginia, a master's degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City and a specialist degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. She taught eighth grade in Knob Noster until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Warrensburg and HW PEO Chapter and was president of Friends of Arrow Rock and on the Board of Directors for Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater.
Survivors include one daughter, Julia Stubbs Levy of Decatur, Ga.; one son, Clayton Stubbs of Platte City; one brother, Roswell Eldridge of Sublette, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
