Olivia Poindexter, 81, of Slater, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church in Slater. Vice Bishop Noah E. Poole will officiate. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall and from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Slater Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Born Dec. 16, 1922, in Paris, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mary Virginia Mahan Johnson. She was a member of St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board. She was also a member of Gertrude Madison No. 105 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Ethel Jean Williams of Kansas City; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother.
