Samuel A. Fales, 75, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Kansas City, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City. Rev. Dennis Bowman will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born March 21, 1928, in Council Bluffs, he was the son of the late Samuel Alfred Fales and Ethel Clear Fales. In 1984, he married Phyllis Perkins, who survives of the home. He was a house mover for more than 35 years before his retirement. He had been a Kansas City resident most of his life until moving to Council Bluffs two years ago.
Additional survivors include two sons, Sammy Fales and Larry Fales, both of Kansas City; two daughters, Ethel "Sis" Ronsley of Marshall and Sherri Clark of Garnett, Kan.; one stepson, Wesley Widebrook of the state of Missouri; two stepdaughters, Pati McGeeney of the state of Missouri and Sue Young of the state of Wisconsin; one sister, Ann Lockerby of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
