Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Community of Christ Church in Sedalia. Elder Carol Barnes and Elder Harold Wheatley will officiate. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the Church of Jesus Christ Warrensburg Restoration Branch, Community of Christ Church in Sedalia or in Marshall in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Born June 8, 1913, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Earl Arthur and Clara Magnolia Thayer. On March 11, 1933, in Sedalia, she married Robert Pike Richardson, who preceded her in death April 5, 1963. On Nov. 13, 1968, in Knob Noster, she married Luther Ellsworth Sartin, who preceded her in death May 24, 1997. She attended Eastwood Elementary and Marshall High School in Marshall. She had worked at International Shoe Company in Marshall and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served as women's leader, church school director and teacher, choir member and pastor's wife in Marshall, Knob Noster, Sweet Springs and Warrensburg.
Survivors include four daughters, Maurine Peterson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Connie Owings of Columbia, Kristeen Cox of Sedalia and Kathleen DeShon of St. Joseph; one son, Wayne Richardson of High Ridge; two stepdaughters, Susan Talcott of Independence and Mary Jo Sartin of Sedalia; one stepson, John Sartin of Warrensburg; one sister, Kathryn Robinson of Independence; one stepbrother, Robert Sparks of Kirkwood; 18 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, William Robert Richardson, one sister, Hazel Thayer, and one brother, Charles Everett Thayer.
