One seriously injured in crash
A Carrollton man was seriously injured and a Marshall man also hurt in a nearly head-on crash early Tuesday morning in Lafayette County.
The initial report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol states the wreck occurred on U.S. Highway 24 three-tenths of a mile west of Highway 23 shortly before 7 a.m.
The MSHP reported that Michael A. Mayer, 30, was eastbound when his 2002 Dodge traveled across the center line and struck a westbound 2003 Chevrolet driven by Dewey R. Hendrix, 49, of Marshall, nearly head-on.
Mayer was taken by helicopter to Liberty Hospital in Liberty while Hendrix, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall by private vehicle.
The report states a summons is pending in the crash.
