Thomas W. "T.W." Finley, 76, of Gilliam, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Friends may call until 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Rusty Finley, Mike Finley, Ronald Adams, Russell Garrett, Harold "Doc" Garrett and Rusty Cook. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Saline County. Memorials are suggested to Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia.
Born July 24, 1927, in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Hiriam Wesley Finley and Nellie Mae Narron Finley. On Jan. 12, 1950, he married Stella Mae Russell, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County since May 1991, moving from Kansas City, where he had lived most of his life. He was a Baptist and a retired custodian with the Kansas City Public Schools. He was also a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1948 to 1949.
Additional survivors include three sons, Russell William Finley of Kansas City, Robert Wesley Finley of Ozark and Michael Anthony Finley of Kansas City; one sister, Mildred Hurley of Smithville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
