Dexter Lee Rodden, 16, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -- Jefferson City Chapel in Jefferson City. Doyle Sager will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Cole County Emergency Medical First Responders in care of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St., Jefferson City, MO 65109. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -- Jefferson City Chapel.
Born Aug. 24, 1987, in Jefferson City, he was the son of Brian Lee Rodden of Jefferson City and Judi A. Williams of Scottsdale, Ariz. He was currently a sophomore at Jefferson City High School and had previously attended Saugauro High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. He loved music and playing with his video games and computer. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends and just being a kid.
Additional survivors include two stepbrothers, Scott Fitzgerald and T.J. Fitzgerald, both of Camdenton; maternal grandparents Roy and Betty Williams of Lake Ozark; paternal grandparents LeRoy and Joyce Rodden of Jefferson City; paternal great-grandmother Florence Sprague of Marshall; one aunt, Kim Rodden of Jefferson City; and one uncle, Kurt Williams of Potosi.
