Charles Jacob Turner, 63, of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Chris Weber, Dude Green, Frank Riffert, Joe Stockmann, Larry Johnson, James Holmes and Jason Holmes. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Born Dec. 16, 1940, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Leon P. Turner and Alice K. Jacoby Turner. On June 17, 1966, he married Lois Shirley, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall his entire life and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. He was owner and operator of Turner Trucking Company for 30 years and served in the National Guard for 15 years.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Julie Stockmann and husband Joe of Liberty and Jennifer Johnson and husband Larry of Marshall; one brother, Wayne Turner of Marshall; one sister, Janice Ernzen of Waco, Texas; three grandchildren, Andrew and Aaron Stockmann and Hannah Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
