M.L. "Joe" Coble, 82, of Tecumseh, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Joseph Turley, Jacob Turley, Talton Turley, Christian Ross, Joshua Ross, Kent Coble, Caleb Ross and H.J. Coble Jr. Burial with military rites at graveside will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to Missouri State Veterans.
Born Feb. 8, 1921, in Swift, he was the son of the late James John William Coble and Altha Autrey Coble. He returned to Saline County in 2002, moving from Gainesville. He was a retired cattleman and rancher and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Joe Coble of Weatherford, Texas, and Gary Coble of Boonville; two daughters, Judy Turley of Arrow Rock and Jill Murray of rural Slater; four sisters, Polly Sims of Escondido, Calif., Christine Scott of Lake Jackson, Texas, Jannine Gregory of Austin, Texas, and Lucille Fort of Eureka Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Elvis Coble of Jonesboro, Ark., and Roy Coble of Liberty, Texas; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Ed Coble.
