Carolyn Diane Simpson, 21, of Okemah, Okla., formerly of Carrollton, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, in Okemah.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home and from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe. Born Nov. 17, 1982, in Columbia, she was the daughter of David McGrew, who survives of Carrollton, and Pat Malyuk Brewer, who survives of Marshall. On Sept. 24, 2003, in Okemah, she married Jerry Allen Simpson, who survives of the home. She attended First Baptist Church in Carrollton and graduated from Carrollton High School in 2001. She was active in the Carrollton High School band and choir group and attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia. She was a clerk and waitress at Okemah Bingo and Casino for six months.
Additional survivors include maternal grandfather John Malyuk of Marshall; paternal grandfather Ted McGrew and stepgrandmother Carolyn McGrew of Carrollton; five stepchildren, Jenna Simpson, Allen Simpson, Tianna Simpson, Darrell Simpson and Jerimiah Lancaster, all of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, David McGrew of Marshall; three sisters, Amber Stanley of Marshall, Ashley McGrew of Carrollton and Tara Fisher of Marshall; two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by one son, Justen Bradley Simpson, maternal grandmother Francis Stewart and paternal grandmother Betty Staton.
