Frieda M. Bell, 90, of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Pastor Timothy Miille will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born Dec. 25, 1913, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Peter Viets and Adel Steffens Viets. On Aug. 11, 1934, near Sweet Springs, she married Clifford W. Bell, who preceded her in death March 22, 2001. She attended Elmwood United Methodist Church and had lived in Sweet Springs most of her life. She had worked at International Shoe in Sweet Springs and as a cook at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. She was a member of Elmwood Homemakers Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma Gieseke of Sweet Springs; one son, Clifford L. "Sonny" Bell of St. Joseph; one sister, Elverna Hogan of Sedalia; one brother, Ervin Viets of Warrensburg; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; 14 great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; four stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Della Marie Bell, and one granddaughter.
