Robert Hugh Wingert, 72, of Marshall, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. N. Paul Callahan officiated. Pallbearers were Bill Norvell, Bill McCloud, Gene McCloud, Herb Brockhaus, Sam McCloud and Emmit Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Dawson, Pete Montgomery, Larry McCue, Chris McCloud, John McCloud and Norman Kulp. Burial was in Strasburg Cemetery in Strasburg. Memorials are suggested to the Marshall First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Kingsville Baptist Church Building Fund.
Born Aug. 29, 1931, in Kansas City, he was the son of the late Hugh Wingert and Pearl Grisham Wingert. He married Margaret Louise McKinney, who preceded him in death in 1980. On July 4, 1981, he married Etta Ballard McCloud, who survives of the home. He had lived in the Marshall area since 1997, moving from Kingsville. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall and U.A.W. Local 249. He retired from Ford Motor Company in September 1983 after 30 years of service.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Sharon Bemboom of Oak Grove, Karen Wingert of Kansas City and Sherry Easley of Cassville; two sons, Larry Wingert of Kansas City and Gary Wingert of Kingsville; two stepsons, Sam McCloud of Kingsville and Ed McCloud of Napton; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Bonebright.
