Linda Dierker, 50, of Higginsville, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Blackburn Cemetery in Higginsville. Pastor Mike Koch officiated. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery in Blackburn. Pallbearers were Eric Giffen, Beau Giffen, Ricky Giffen, Kyle Giffen, Phil Giffen and Bruce Stone. Honorary pallbearers were Bryan Wagner, Les Kelso, Danny Iman and Jammie Stephens.
Born Dec. 16, 1953, in Corder, she was the daughter of the late William Hugo Giffen and Hester Marie Haskett Keck, who survives of Independence. She had lived in the Blackburn and Alma areas most of her life and was a nurse from 1992 until she became ill in 2002. Through her profession, she traveled to New Mexico, Alaska and Montana. Her most recent position was at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
Additional survivors include two sons, Keith Dierker of Marshall and Konrad Dierker of Blackburn; one daughter, Christy Woodard of Higginsville; three brothers, Bill Giffen of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael Giffen of Marshall and Steve Giffen of Sweet Springs; one sister, Wanda Newton of Marshall; and five grandchildren.
