Norman Dale Erickson, 47, of rural Fayette, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Rev. Paula Ritchie officiated. Pallbearers were Calvin Erickson, Don Erickson, Rick Erickson, Mike Erickson, Curt Kruse, J.A. Johnmeyer, Dick Wies and Jeff Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers were John Howell, Scott Barney, Randy Lutz, James Henry, Don Evans and Jeremiah Erickson. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Association in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 and 240 North, Fayette, MO 65248.
Born June 15, 1956, in Joliet, Ill., he was the son of the late Norman F. and Betty June Rusher Erickson. On June 2, 1984, he married Deborah Jean Conrow, who survives of the home. He was a 1974 graduate of Fayette High School and also attended Linn State Technical College in Linn. He had been employed as an automotive mechanic for more than 18 years at Joe Machens Ford in Columbia. Previously, he had been employed for several years by John Riddick Motors in Columbia.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Dayla Erickson of Higbee and Ashlee Erickson of Boonville; one son, Scott Barney of Columbia; two sisters, Rita Erickson of Higbee and Lisa Kruse of Moberly; four brothers, Calvin Erickson of Columbus, Ga., Donald Erickson of Woodbridge, Va., Rick Erickson of Marshall and Michael Erickson of Higbee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Erickson.
