Robert Harvey Werneke, 62, of Sweet Springs, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Sweet Springs. Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation, The Lutheran Hour, Christ Lutheran Church or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall.
Born June 19, 1941, in Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late Harvey and Elsie Werneke. On May 20, 1951, in Ernestville, he married Helen Louise Hildebrand, who survives of Sweet Springs. He was a 1960 Sweet Springs High School graduate. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Sweet Springs. For many years he was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent and usher at church. He worked as a seed plant manager at various locations.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Sheila Debrick of St. Charles, Sarah Graver of Malta Bend and Sandra Hamilton of Brawley, Calif.; one brother, Norbert "Butch" Werneke of rural Sweet Springs; and six grandchildren.
