Warren Hayslip, 55, of Odem, Texas, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Sinton, Texas. Rev. James Sturgis Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church of West Sinton memorial fund and may be sent to 7912 FM 796, Odem, TX 78370.
Born Nov. 4, 1948, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Thomas and Martha Ash Hayslip. He married Emma Edlin, who survives of Odem. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a partner in Edlin's Auction. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Sinton.
Additional survivors include his father-in-law, Bob Edlin of Corpus Christi; four sons, Clay Hayslip and wife Elice of Alice, Texas, Curt Hayslip and wife Stephanie of Walhalla, S.C., Casey Hayslip of Corpus Christi and Christopher Hayslip of Odem; one sister, Becky Hudson and husband Norman of LaFeria, Texas; two brothers, James Hayslip and wife Diane of Napton, and Robert Schrankler and wife Joyce of Blue Springs; two grandchildren, Hannah Hayslip and Ethan Hayslip; brother-in-law, Rocky Edlin and wife Jan of Taft, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
