David F. Stout Jr., 81, of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Saline County, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Colby Smith will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "The Lord's Prayer." Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Robert Thomas, Max Thomas, Melvin Barnes, Chester Barnes, Bill Meyer and John Miller. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall with military rites at graveside. Memorials are suggested to the Marshall High School Class of 1940 Scholarship Fund.
Born May 27, 1922, in Marshall, he was the son of the late David F. Stout Sr. and Leona Thomas Stout. On April 10, 1942, in Tacoma, Wash, he married Marchess Neff, who preceded him in death July 19, 1999. On Dec. 7, 2001, he married Beverly Ingle Bouchard, who survives of the home. He had lived in Ft. Myers, Fla., since 1985, moving from Sylvania, Ohio. He was a member of First Christian Church in Sylvania, San Carlos Bay Power Squadron and Royal Palm Yacht Club. He was owner and operator of Stout Construction Co. in Sylvania, retiring in 1984. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a 1940 graduate of Marshall High School.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Linda Kay Stout of Sylvania, Ohio; one son, David J. Stout of Ft. Myers, Fla.; one brother, Tom Stout of Marathon, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Miller of Slater; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
