Tony Norbert Johnson, 71, of rural Gilliam, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Concord Christian Church in Saline County. William W. Harlow and Charlie Guthrie will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Concord Christian Church.
Born Oct. 31, 1932, in Gilliam, he was the son of the late Rudolph Johnson and Lula Belle Burnett Johnson. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was a member of Concord Christian Church. He was a truck driver, logger and farmer his entire life. He was a 1951 graduate of Slater High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include companion Delores Reeves of the home; two sons, Myron Johnson and wife Eleonore of Marshall and Richard Johnson of Slater; one brother, Ray Johnson of Gilliam; two sisters, Corean Haynes of Gilliam and Helen Metcalfe of Gilliam; four grandchildren, Carmen Johnson, Nicklas Johnson, Daniel Johnson and Tony Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
