Helen L. Bishop, 81, of Bunceton, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in Boonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Markland-Gardner Funeral Home in New Franklin. Rev. Dan Pritchard will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be John Bishop, Mike Bishop, Jimmy Morrow, Chris Hazel, Jim Cox and Harold Maier. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery near Nelson. Memorials are suggested to the family. Born Nov. 30, 1922, in Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Bertha Shull Bryant. On Dec. 19, 1942, in Boonville, she married Oscar T. Bishop, who preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1986. She was a homemaker and a Baptist in faith.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Bishop and John Bishop, both of Marshall; one daughter, Mary Helen Bishop of Marshall; one sister, Hannah McConnell of the state of New Mexico; three half sisters, Ramona Zieglein of the state of Arizona, Virginia Cramer of Kansas City and Vivian Klubuchar of the state of California; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bryant; two sisters, Iness Balcom and Bertie Jucutan; and one half sister, Margaret Smith.
