Charlie Riley, 84, of Marshall, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
Born Aug. 16, 1919, in Thayer, he was the son of the late Henry Riley and Nancy Elizabeth Conley Riley. On March 25, 1950, he married Dorothy Maxine Nichols, who survives of the home. He moved from Thayer to Saline County in 1946. He was a retired janitor and construction worker and had served in the U.S. Army four years.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Joyce Haley of Marshall and Carolyn Bakert of Independence; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
