Marguerite Ficken, 90, of Concordia, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Lutheran Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs. Pastor David Ritoch will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Terry Zimmerschied, Alan Zimmerschied, Tom Tyler, Melvin Sanders, Gordon Sanders and Jerry Sanders. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Born March 23, 1913, in Pettis County, she was the daughter of the late Jake Sanders and Cora Bowers Sanders. On Feb. 26, 1932, she married Norman Ficken, who preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1990. She had lived in Sweet Springs for 50 years and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was co-owner and operator of Saline-Wilbert Vault Company in Sweet Springs for many years.
Survivors include two sisters, Esther Weller of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Edith Tapp of Salem, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
